Ok, this place is not luxurious, but it's as close as you'll get for 40 - 50RM per night. There's not that much to see in JB, but if you're shocked by prices in Singapore and can handle a commute this would make a great alternative. Otherwise, if you're travelling around Malaysia and want a break from the budget hotels...

We recently stayed 1 night at the JB Guest House. It's about 10-15 mins outside of JB and took us just over 30 mins by bus from JB Sentral bus stn.
The info provided by the owner was perfect and we arrived at the accomodation without any trouble. We used public transport but a taxi would have been much quicker....
