When our vans pulled into Samburu National Park in Kenya near sunset, it had been a very long day of van breakdowns, potholed roads, and no sleep since leaving the US 48 hours before. We were immediately enthralled to view a herd of elephants just inside the park, and watch zipping warthogs dash in the grasses next to our vans.... More

We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it! The Lodge is beautiful, the little duplex cabanas were very clean and comfortable, the Staff was amazing, and the food was great! Unfortunately I had a bad toothache while we stayed but luckily there was a Dr. on call to give me something for pain! We did not see any animals around... More

Good quality accommodation - a nicely designed and finished room with a kind of natural "air conditioning" arrangement in the roof which kept things cool. The food was also good quality with plenty of choice served in a nice restaurant adjacent to a pleasant bar area. Service was good. The whole place (ie rooms and dining area) has a great... More

Like the title says, this is a good option for those who do not want to camp and do not need nor want the isolated luxury experience. Located near the airstrip, Sopa Lodge is arranged with a central check-in, bar, and restaurant area with high vaulted thatch roof and the double cabins spread out from both sides in a ring... More

This is a very nice lodge. It is about 20 minutes drive from the river but that doesn't matter at all. You get to see beautiful views over the park as you drive to and from the lodge, and quite a few animals. It also has the advantage of not getting flooded, as seems to happen from time to time... Stayed there two nights, big rooms, clean. Very friendly staff, nice restaurant with a small waterhole in front of it. You are in the middle of the wilderness, sometimes elefants come close to the bungalows at night, but guards are watching all night, so don`t be afraid ;-). Nature all around, very good Safari tours there, we have seen big... More

After being ripped off US$70.00pp to get through the Kenya Wildlife Park to get to the Lodge on very, very bad roads, you have to ask if it is worth the visit. As usual, KWL staff were as rude as possible. Find an option closer to the main Isiolo Marsabit road.

Second time I stayed at this lodge in two years. This lodge has large airy clean rooms with two queen beds in each room. Nice reception and bar area and the swimming pool was clean. The best part of this lodge is that it has no fence so walking from the restaurant to your room is a thrill. Since this... More

The air is burning hot... the land is tinder dry... the dust has caked into the creases of my eyes and alongside the corners of my mouth... and I thirst...how can anything survive in this inhospitable arid land? Joseph from Asili Adventure Safaris (yes, Joseph, I still love you! If you're still looking for a Safari Operator, I can genuinely... More

We stayed at this lodge recently for two nights, and were very happy with accommodation offered. We had adjacent rooms with our two children, which was perfect. The staff are second to none and were very happy to help with any requests. When staying, please be aware that there is no electricity after 10 pm and it does get VERY... More
