Samburu Intrepids was a wonderful tented camp. The reception/bar/dining lodge is a beautiful timber framed open sided pavilion overlooking the river. We stopped here while driving north to Maralal as it was one of the few (safe) places to stay. While I sometimes stay at very upscale hotels, I normally don't enjoy the experience because of the coldness and snob factor. The Samburu Intrepids Tent camp is a fantastic place to stay. the tents are beautiful. The warm shower was delightful (heated by solar heat).
