We stayed here for the first 2 nights on safari. Our room was very large with 2 double beds and large bathroom. There was also a nice terrace outside the room where you could sit and relax. The first night we stayed the lodge was virtually empty. There was our group of 5 staying plus only about another 10 guests... More

Well hidden in trees with Mt Kilimanjaro as a background - amazingly clear of cloud in the early morning. Quite a small hotel but liked the ambiance. Strong Masai influence with a Masai shop on site and Sam the huge Masai welcomer. Bedrooms in individual round huts along flower lined paths. Very big bedrooms, shower room with toiletries provided, and... More

Spent three nights here with friends, the staff are quite friendly. I quite enjoyed 3 days of no TV and very limited access to gizmos, their conservation of power helps one explore the park and really unwind. They do provide power three times a day for those who may need to charge electronics. I was hesitant when we realised that... More

Our room was small, but the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro more than made up for that. Enjoyed the monkeys looking into our windows. The walk to the lodge was very pretty with foliage, monkeys and grazing animals near by. The dining room offers a wonderful view of the mountain. My birthday was made special by the staff singing a wonderful... More

On an 8-day Safari in Kenya, Sopa Amboseli was our last lodge and by reading reviews of the lodge prior to arrival, we were excited for the visit. As we arrived to the lodge, through the dry and dusty road, we arrived to a driveway with beautiful flowers and greenery. We were happy to arrive and were every bit pleased... More

Your own hut which looks great when you first see it but it is very basic. No a/c, no fan, no tea-making facilities. Plenty of room. Food ok. This is a chain hotel and the Sopa Lodge at the Masai Mara is much the same. Did not have time to use the swimming pool but it looked fine. More

Loved the national park, blown away by the elephants but disappointed by the attitude of the staff here, it was my third Sopa of this trip and by far the one I felt most uncomfortable with. The quality and variety of the food was poor and the arrogance of the restaurant staff very off putting. More

We stayed here 2 nights as part of our 3 week trip to Africa. It was a fantastic place to sit and watch animals wander by. It was a short drive in from the park entrance but we enjoyed watching the monkeys scamper around. It was a great break-enjoyed the game drives but like the staff very much and the... More

We travelled during the week of 12th-18th September 2011, stopping at various lodges whilst on Safari. This lodge was beautiful in every way, the same as all the lodges we had the privilige of staying in. The people were friendly and helpful. The food was of a high standard. In the evening they had an area where Hyenas, mongoose &... More

After having done an eight hour journey by air to Nairobi and then another 5 hours to Amboseli, The Sopa Lodge was a perfect start to our Kenyan Safari. The 5 hours of travel of course gave us a wonderful taste of the trip that will follow. We had decided Amboseli since in the limited time, this was the closest... More
