This is a really good place to stay in when visiting Beppu. It’s just 1 minute walk to the famous Takegawara Onsen where you can try sand bath, and it’s not far from Beppu Station. If you walk out of the ryokan entrance, turn right and walk for less than 1 minute, you come to the main street filled with... More

We stayed for two nights here and enjoyed it a lot much due to the nice onsens. The three private paths are free and at least one of them is available most of the time. There are also public baths for men and women. A very positive side of this ryokan. That said it is a bit worn down -... More

Upon arrival dismayed to discover that the hotel/ryokan is quite a bit older than expected, with more than a few uneven floors and 'old smokey' smell. We were initially put into a smoking room, despite requesting otherwise, which was rectified soonafter, however the floors are not separated into smoking/non-smoking, so there was the occasional bad smoking odour even in our... My son and I stayed here and it was great! The staff was friendly, helpful and the front desk was always manned. We liked it so much; we spent a second night here. With three private baths available (06:00 – 24:00), there was no problem in reserving one Although it is located within a short walking from the JR Beppu... More

Even though my family and I read the review of this place, we went ahead to book 2 rooms because my relative had previously stayed here and recommeded it. It was not that easy to find the Ryokan, but I believe another reviewer gave pretty good directions that we were able to follow. Unfortunately, the wear and tear of the... More

Property is a basic ryokan located in downtown Beppu. Only 12 minutes to train station and 8 minutes to long distance bus stop and ticket office on foot. The famous Takezawara where sand bath is available is couple minutes on foot. We opted for room only without meals. Some travelers have shared concerns that this property is located in a... More

This ryokan has charm and a great Japanese atmosphere, but it also needs a good refurbishment. There are three public baths (onsens) that can be reserved for an hour for your personal use. They are OK. At night you can here noise from the street, so sometimes it is difficult to sleep. You can choose between Japanese or Western breakfast.... More

Beppu at first glance feels like a japanese version of a British seaside town, cheesy music played on the street, smell of the sea, amusement arcades and an old laid back town compared to the high tech, high rise buildings in the The ryokan was easy to find using lonely planet we took a right off the main road opposite... Just the beautiful, private onsens would be reason to go back there. Their wooden semi-open air onsen was maybe the best we tried during our round trip in Japan. Real Japanese experience, which you can share with your loved one - the thing you appreciate most for so many hotel onsens are only for public use. Good value ryokan, not... More

I had the same problem as one of the other reviewers below in finding the hotel. I arrived quite late at the JR station and even though I had printed a map and knew the general area in which to find the hotel, I still managed to get lost. I blame it partly on the fact that it was quite... More
