Large chain hotel with mainly Chinese guests. Rooms are a little basic yet spotless and comfortable. Short shuttle bus ride to Otsu station and 10 minute train journey into Kyoto. Very good restaurant in the hotel. Staff very helpful. More

We choose this hotel as the rooms were spacious and had fantastic views of Lake Biwa. Transport to Kyoto and more locally to Otsu - Enryaky-ji on Mt Hiei (UNESCO World cultural Asset) was fairly easy to negotiate, even with 2 small children. The buffet breakfast was very good but pricey at the present exchange rate (2200 yen for adults)... More

My girlfriend and I tried to book something in Kyoto but for the amount of time we were spending (six nights of a two-week trip) and the amount of luggage we had to haul around, night-to-night is Kyoto wasn't an option. We found the Otsu Prince Hotel and booked there. The room was spacious and the view was beautiful but... More

Rooms are quite spacious, and you can enjoy the breathtaking view of Biwako! There is also a convenient store on the ground floor of the hotel, so you can buy souvenirs and a wide selection of great Japanese sweets there. More

it’s a nice hotel beside lake biwa. you can see the best view from your room and at night, maybe you can have the best photograph with city view from your room. there’s a shop in this hotel. as long as i know, there’s not much different price (mostly same price) to buy a products at japan… so, i think... Just like the country, this hotel had great service but extremely over priced. 2000 yen to go into the pool (1000 to swim, 1000 for a chair) that you're a guest of? I don't think so. It wasn't even that big and nice. Food was decent, nothing to wow about. The service was good- It took the hotel staff no... More

We had been spending our nights at ryokans and decided to splurge for a good night's rest before leaving for Hakone the next morning. The design of the hotel is modern, being a business hotel. The room is large by Japan standards and the bathroom is nice. In the morning, the lake is a beautiful sight. The japanese restaurant upstairs... More

I would recommend this hotel to any mid-range traveler. It's clean, comfortable, and the rooms are definitely bigger than average for Japan, with pleasant views across Japan's biggest lake. I stayed here in early April, not necessarily by choice, but I decided to head to Japan pretty late in the day, and as this was peak blossom-spotting time, it was... More

We stayed at this hotel 3nights during the Golden Week holiday period in Japan, when hotels and flights are most busy and ultra expensive. We traveled around Hyogo, Shiga, Kyoto prefectures by train and rented car. We are very satisfied by this hotel and the entre trip. To book this hotel, we obtained an interesting rate from hotels.com through tripadvisor... More

Used this hotel as 'base' for daytrips to Kyoto, Nara, Koya-san and Himeji. Good quality rooms, excellent room-service, nice view over the lake (take a high floor if possible). More
