Large hotel with conference/banquet facilities on the fringe of downtown Himeji. You can walk 15-20 mins to shopping and other attractions, but it is not right in the middle of the action. The hotel has a shuttle bus that goes to the bus/train station, in the middle of town.

Luckily my fiancee and I only stayed one night in order to see the castle before moving on. The rooms are very very basic and have a complete lack of charme. Small plastic bathroom you find in low standard riyokans. Worst was the bed, we both woke up with backpain and having slept badly because of the most terrible mattress...
