My room type in Ryokan-style was big. Could fit 2 adults+2children. Stuff in room is not new and a bit dusty but ok for me. Stayed two nights as part of a 2.5 week Japan trip in Nov '07. The cottage rooms (ones with western beds) are awful! Very worn, dusty, not clean. The curtains had mold on them - really! The rooms in the main building are more traditional and in better shape. The Nikko area is outstanding, but don't get a cottage room... More
