This hotel is superb. In a little residential area it could be in California or Côte d'Azur The wireless provision is poor but that's the telephone company's fault. It's within walking distance of the open air museum (a must attraction) as well as the train station.

This Hyatt is quite nice and well-located. Our room (408) had a spectacular view; we awoke to a crystal clear morning with the upper half of Mt. Fuji sitting there behind the hills as clear and wonderful as could be. The room and bath are excellent. The onsite Onsen (mineral bath; male & female separate) is free and everything you... More

I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights recently.... and it's a great hotel. The only slight letdown I could find was that it's located right next to a road. That's not really a problem when you're in the hotel but it would have been nice if the grounds would have been a little more extensive, and you... More

It was wonderful waking to the sunrise view of the surrounding caldera out the picture windows. The room was extremely spacious and modern, and the bed was comfortable with a firm mattress. There is a separate living room area with ample seating. You are presented with three remotes--for TV, stereo, and the air conditioning. Yukatas are provided, which you can... More

Just an hour and 45 minutes from Tokyo we were arriving at reception in the Hyatt shuttle bus which had picked us up from Odawara station - details and times of the shuttle are on their website. Our large mountain view room was ready and we were checked in and given a hotel tour. The French and Japanese restaurants -... More

The Hyatt Regency Hakone is a rare find in the entire region as it combines understated, sophisticated design with great service and nearly great facilities. The rooms are very large by Japanese standards with huge bathrooms, conservatory and bedroom. They have the latest equipment and are nicely decorated. The cleaning of the bathroom could have been better. The onsite, indoor... More

Our room was on the 4th floor, facing towards Mt Fuji. The room itself was huge and elegantly finished, and the bathroom is beautiful, though I never used it because the onsen facilities are great, with all the toiletries you could ask for and a nice big onsen bath to give you plenty of space to yourself. The showers around... More

I loved this hotel. The hotel and area where my favorite in Japan. The area is artsy with loads of museums and natural beauty. Museums, hiking in the forest with Mt Fuji as a backdrop is a magnificent experience. It is like being in an exclusive camp. Everyone walks around the hotel in matching robes. They are worn in the... Exceptional resort and a great starting point to our Hakone Loop. Indoor onsen is very clean and not crowded. One drawback is lack of outdoor onsen. We can see topmost part of Mt. Fuji from 5th level of West Wing. We loved the Deluxe Tatami room and will recommend this to other travelers.

This is my favourite hotel, anywhere in the world. I've been here perhaps times, and long to go back. When living in Tokyo, this was our regular weekend getaway. Its just a 1.5 hour drive away, half of it through the mountains of Hakone, and I loved entering that driveway. The service is always impeccable, from perfectly attentive staff (many... More
