Extremely good location, just right outside the Gora station. For girls you can choose the yukata you like at the reception area. Me and my husband booked a room with ensuite wooden bath at the balcony. Unfortunately the weather was not very stable, a storm was coming and it was really cold. However still a lot of fun when the... More

We stayed at Setsugetsuka and generally enjoyed our stay. We had a private hot tub in our room but I would suggest the couples hot tubs instead. There were I believe, 4 individual "shared" hot tubs for mixed sex (men generally shared the public baths with other men and vice versa) that were pretty cool. Each individual hot tub had... More

This Japanese style hotel is several steps from the train station in Gora and the cable train up to the Hakone Mountain /from where you can see the Mt. Fuji if you are lucky/. After check in you pick a yukata to wear during the whole stay - you can also bring your own. The room we had was very... More

Our small family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights in a Western/Japanese style room. As we had never stayed in a Ryokan before we had no idea what to expect. We loved it! We didn't realise it was such a large establishment, although there was never any noise. The room was by far the biggest we stayed in during... More

I have been to a number of Onsen before, and had high expectations, which this hotel almost lived up to. It's a treat getting to Gora, taking the Romance Car from Shinjuku (1 hr 40 mins) and then a small switchback train, running to Japanese precision, up the mountain (about 45 mins). The hotel is really close to the station.... More

I was really excited about staying here on my trip to Japan, but I think my fiance liked even better than me. I was timid to book a Ryokan, as my fiance can barely handle the careful service associated with a bed and breakfast in the US, and prefers anonymity in a hotel rather than doting service, however, this hotel... We got a lot of weird looks from people when we told them we were honeymooning in Japan. "Japan? Why Japan?" Well, if they saw Setsugetsuka, they wouldn't question Japan as a honeymoon destination anymore! First, Setsugetsuka is really convenient to the train station. It literally took us one minute to walk there after our ride from Tokyo. Two thumbs... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel with my 2 kids. We booked a modern Japanese/Western style room. It was huge. There were 2 double beds for my hubby and I. The kids decided to use the self-service futons (mommy laid them out for them) and slept on the floor. Our stay included 3 meals - dinner, noodles as... More

My family of four booked two japanese/western 36m2 rooms and stayed 1 night - 1st Dec on the 4th floor facing the garden at Setsugetsuka Hotel. We booked through Odakyu Travel at 21,900yen/person/night which includes breakfast and dinner and all taxes. We were treated to ice-cream upon arrival and got to choose nice yukatas near the small shop on level... More

Stayed here for 1 night as a getaway from Tokyo. The hotel is right across the street from the railway station (and if your room overlooks the tracks you'll hear the railway and the automatic crossing every few minutes!). The hotel blends some hotel and ryokan features. There's about 200 rooms I would estimate. Nevertheless, it doesn't feel crowded. Reception... More
