“Twinkle Bus easiest way to/fro Akan Lakeside Hotsprings”

Since there was no train access to Akan, we took Twinkle Bus tour (organised by JR Hokkaido) - cheap (JPY1000~2000 depending on pickup point) & convenient. Boarded the bus at our hotel in Shiretoko (doorstep pickup). Dropoff point in Akan was 2~3mins walk to Akan Royal Hotel. Altho' hotel wasn't located next to the lake, everything (restaurant & shopping street)... More
