A nice ryokan with some western touches. Lovely onsen. Very spacious and lovely outlook. However it is a good 20 minutes by bus from Matsumoto station and the bus only comes hourly. Perfect if you've got your own wheels, but a bit frustrating otherwise. The 45 minute walk was a bit much to do routinely.

Modern Ryokan in Asama Onsen. Friendly staffs. Great food but the room where we had dinner looked dirty. Great japanese bath.
