I stayed 3 nights with my family ( 2 adults and 2 small children). We had the family room which was the biggest we had in Japan (18 tatamis), that includes a small dining room separated by sliding doors and a full on view of the lovely small garden. The whole place is spotless, cosy, though the fittings are rather... More

A short bus trip [10 -15 mins] from the Railway Station this Ryokan was in a great location in the ‘downtown’ area, just off the main shopping street. Everything was spotlessly clean. The lady came out and wiped down the wheels on our suitcases before we took them to our room. The shared toilets were on both floors, so not... More

We had a lovely stay at this little ryokan with our family. The staff were friendly and while basic, the ryokan is also really charming. The shared toilet and bathroom were very clean and we enjoyed the Japanese shared bathing experience. Our room was large enough for all 5 of us, and the futons were very comfortable. The ryokan is... We had a very wide bedroom where we found tea and yukatas. No bathroom ensuite because the ryokan has a traditional japanese bath (great!!!): small showers to wash yourself before getting into a wide basin full of hot water. Everything very clean. You can have japanese breakfast (but we choose not to have it). The ryokan is very conveniently located... More

Although as mentioned by other people it is pretty old-furnished, we can feel it is perfectly clean. Actually we pretty much enjoyed this old-style and very simple, as it doesn"t affect your confort. Location is perfect. It is only my second stay in a ryokan, therefore I can not compare, but true that the common bathroom, even though do not... More

As this was our first Ryokan I,m not sure how I should review this, but we were a little disappointed. The place needs a good overhaul and refurbishment as it was like visiting an elderly relative`s house! The rooms were lovely but the bathing and toileting faciltities were not up to the usual Japanese standard. The couple running the place... More

This ryokan is not the most modern, but has character and the owners are very welcoming and extremely helpful. My single (4.5 tatami) room was adequate for me, the antiquated TV worked (although no English language channels), and the futon was comfortable with clean bedding, albeit a small pillow. I had little natural light in my room, which was just... More

1. The rooms and the bathrooms are all quiet and clean. 2. Very easy to get to. 3. The staff, who spoke pretty good English, was extremely nice and helpful. A photocopy of a homemade, hand-drawn map was given to us by Mrs Murata, showing not only the major attractions of Kanazawa but also the good restaurants and also ones... More

The Ryokan was easy to find thanks to the accurate directions given in their website. The location is great for both, shopping and sightseeing: most of the must-see spots in Kanazawa are within walking distance and there are many good and cheap restaurants in the proximities. Mrs Murata, the owner, is very kind and speaks good English. I stayed at... More

This ryokan was conveniently located and had nice facilities. The property is a bit worn down, but clean. Despite the convenient location, it was within a very modern shopping area, which takes away from the traditional Japanese charm of a ryokan. Our room was clean, but we did see one cockroach just as we were leaving. Fortunately this didn't happen... More
