Of course since this is a Best Western, it had a few of the characteristics of a US hotel - large open lobby, giant breakfast buffet, and large (by Japan standards) Western Style rooms with beds. We were a family of 4, so they gave us a triple and we just kinda shared the beds between the parents and the... More

The hotel is about two minutes walk from Takayama Station. Room was nice. Hotel has spa rooms for men and women which are free for guests. The mens one has a pine scented mist sauna and three individual spa type baths. The womens spa has , I believe, a different fragrance. Hotel may possibly change the fragrance each month. The... More

Our family of five stayed here for two nights. It is near the train station and everything is an easy walk in Takayama. The rooms were what you should expect in Japan: smallish, very clean, and somewaht pricey. Beds were comfortable, the showers were good, and the staff were exceiptionally helpful. the connecting rooms were convenient for us. The breakfast... More

Small room (Hollywood twin) for two people. Bathroom also small. The website pictures gave a different impression of the size of the room. Room was hot, temperature is controlled by hotel though there was an in-room control which only allowed you to adjust volume of air flow. Modern appearance, seemed to have been recently refurbished. Clean. Apart from size and... More

The Best Western isn't exactly the most exciting hotel choice but for a couple of nights in Takayama it was clean, not too cramped, good value and nice and close to the station. There's an Onsen on level 2 which was a nice touch after a long day's walking around the sights. The "air con" was set to "hot" centrally... More

Over-priced for a Best Western, but then I guess it is Japan. It's very close to the train station (but it's not a bad area) which is probably the best thing to say about this place. It's convenient, but you could be staying anywhere in the World as there's no Japanese character to the place/no atmosphere. Average breakfast.

I stayed here one night in October. The hotel appears to be recently renovated and is good value not to mention very conveniently located. The rooms are spacious by Japanese and many Asian standards for this level of hotel. The breakfast buffet had a very good selection of Japanese and Western options.

It is quite close to Takayama station and there was no need for a cab. Maybe because of maintenance, we had to stay for 2 days without the heater in our room. As Japanese standard that would be unacceptable, but we stayed for a week. The room atmosphere is modern as well as cozy and extremely comfortable. Besides the heater... More

We loved this hotel. There was a problem with our booking but the front desk resolved it in moments. The room was compact but perfectly acceptable and the location could not have been better. Top marks also for the comfortable bed! On check out they stored our luggage while we continued to explore the town. The spa area was wonderful... More

A modern hotel. Nice clean and well equipped room though quite small. Main problem was that the aircon temperature was controlled centrally by the hotel and the room was too hot at night regardless which fan speed we set. Car parking (fee payable) is in a stacker unit, which the staff kindly operate. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is... More
