Contrary to other reviews we found this hotel decidedly average. The staff were not particularly helpful or friendly, room was very cramped even for Japanese standards (the bathroom was like a cabin on a ship). No wifi or Internet at all - not even a pay per use computer in the lobby.

Great Hotel, fantastic location. Spotlessly clean. Staff are very helpful and speak fluent English. Literally 5mins walk from the Railway station and 5 mins from the old town of Takayama. Can’t fault it – very, very, good.

Rooms are small (we booked a double room through Booking.com and had a small 140cm bed in a room described by the hotel as a single) - service is friendly and the hotel is bright and modern. Rooftop spa is the highlight - a great place to enjoy the Japanese onsen experience. Around 5 mins walk from station.
