Thorntree Lodge was a great place for us to relax following our horse-back safari in Botswana. Shame. Shame. Shame Compared to the joy of Botswana, Thorntree was a complete let down. Hordes of out of control baboons stalk you in your room.... and its not that I don't like monkeys, but a bit of ammunition (a few rocks or something) to keep them away would have been appreciated. We stayed at Thorntree three weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Fantaisic location all lodges overlooking the Zambezi river. Plenty of wild life, Hippos on the lawn at night and also a visit from a wild elephant if your lucky. We stayed here for 2 nights in August. The lodge was under-going change of management while we were there so I'm not sure what the outcome of this will be. The staff are extremely friendly.
