Toka Leya was the first camp we stayed at, on a 3-camp honeymoon with Wilderness Safaris, in May 2012, for 2 nights. After checking through immigration at Livingstone airport and grabbing our bags, we were politely greeted by a driver from Toka Leya who transported us to the camp. It is about a 25 minute drive, partially through the town... More

Toka Leya is located 20 minutes from Vic Falls on the banks of the Mighty Zambezi - Each of the 12 private "tents" are connected by a raised wooden walkway and all have an exceptionally large balcony with stunning views of the Zambezi River. We woke up to a large gathering of impala just outside our tent and later in... More

Toka Leya has the potential to be a 5-star resort, but is operating at a 2-star level. Management needs to understand what excellent service means, and then train and set expectations for their staff accordingly. The rooms and grounds are very nice structurally, the food was very good, and the staff are very friendly. However, the sheets have cigarette burns... More

Wilderness Safari's runs Toka Leya camp on the banks of "The Mighty Zambezi" in Zambia. They list it as a "Classic Camp" which is less than their "Premier Camp". Honestly I can not see what a step up to "Premier" could add that is not at this "Classic" camp. The room / tent has a large pario. Sliding wood framed... More

Facilities are beautiful, including the permanent tent cabin, which surprisingly had A/C. We were at the end and had a spectacular view of the Zambesi from our porch, esp. at sunset. Our first stop on 3 camp safari. Service was exceptionally accommodating and friendly. Food was good and certainly plentiful. We had a beautiful sunset cruise on Zambesi (including hippo... More

This was the third camp we visited , after two very nice camps in Botswana, but here you got closer to the 'world' again. Very nice rooms, terrace, oustanding staff, very well educated. The sunset cruise was great as well as the elephant that tried to cross the Zambesi river, the colony of little bee eaters. The zambesi river is... More

Beautiful setting, couldn't have been better. Delightful friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and very special. The river on the river cruise on the evening we arrived was magical as was seeing Victoria Falls. On our last day, as we were leaving, a guide stopped our jeep to say there were some white rhino nearby. We walked a... More
