We stayed at Chundukwa for 2 nights in January and had a great time. Pascal was always around to ask if you needed anything or if he could help in any way and the owner was also always visable and asking if he could sort out any activities or help with anything else. The rooms were nice with fantastic views... More

When we first arrived we were told by the main host that this was not a 5 star lodge. She's right and if that is what you're looking for go to the Royal Livingstone (a tad too colonial for our tastes but without a doubt luxurious). If however you are looking for a wonderful time, clean and cozy rooms, fabulous... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Chundukwa River Lodge. We are delighted that you and your group enjoyed the experience and appreciate your feedback. We are currently looking at an alternative power supply to cover us during the rare occasions that the main power goes down. This will most likely be a solar system... More

No complaints, but just know that you are getting a nice quiet basic getaway. We got service staff for our room, cooking and serving our meals, which was nice. But the accommodation is pretty basic, no internet, they only have enough towels 1 per guest, the transport service is a crappy beat up van. We were treated well and enjoyed... More

We stayed at Chundukwa about 5 weeks ago. The only guests the second night, we were spoilt with our own trip to the local island (complete with drinks of choice on the boat), lovely homestyle cooking enjoying some local dishes), and accommodation where you wake up and see the water without having to open a curtain. Our room was absolutely... More

Stayed for 3 nights after a very active Safari in South Africa. What a good find Our Lodge was at the very end so nobody was wandering past at night except the elephants and Hipos in the river. All the staff were very helpfull. The beds very comfortable Went on a visit to the village were the staff came from... More

This spot is ideal for people who would like a peaceful, beautiful, rejuvenating holiday to recharge their souls. The service is world class and the food wholesome and not excessively much, which we appreciated a lot. (Nothing is worse for us than that over the top, pseudo-gourmet, calorie loaded fare you often get at expensive lodges). The setting just cannot... More

While visiting Victoria Falls, we chose to stay at Chundukwa Lodge about 25 Km outside of Livingstone, Zambia. The lodge was pleasant and the Charmaine’s organization of all the bits and pieces for a full day Victoria Falls visit was outstanding. We stayed two nights, arriving midafternoon, then visiting the falls the next day, and finally touring the local village... More

If you're looking for an experience that doesn't involve a hotel this is it. Charmaine and her staff here are really fantastic. The chalets are stand alone rooms and ours we had to walk outside to the bathroom. By nature of it being open to the outside, thatch roofs, etc. you WILL see some bugs! The only thing I would... The staff here were extremely helpful and accommodating. I was looking for somewhere on the river, at short notice, and used Trip Advisor to choose Chundukwa. It's a bit out of town, but staff will organise taxis, and indeed organised for us to be picked up at the border post as we crossed from Zimbabwe. Very restful, good food -... More

We stayed here in september 2011 and were so well looked after! The staff were very nice, all of them, and so helpful, attentive to our needs. They gave us excellent advice about our onward travel destinations and logistics. Beautiful accommodations, very nice food served in an intimate sphere. If you are looking for a smaller beautiful lodge with your... More
