Can't judge the hotel (we stayed at the SV Business Hotel), but wouldn't advice anyone to go to Buyuk Kervansaray for drinks. We got ripped of by waiters charging us TL10 for a Nescafé, twice the normal price. When we asked for a menu, we saw the waiters quickly writing down the new (high) price on the menu before handing... More

I stayed for a night, the garden is interesting, lighting of building is nice, but the rooms are really bad. Very uncomfortable bed, noisy refrigerator, smelling bathroom, old furniture, and so on. Not a good idea to stay, but maybe to have a dinner at garden in the summer might be interesting. Only to see the garden, because the food... More

My partner insisted on booking this place and well, it seemed interesting to stay in such historical and beautiful building, so we did it. At 200 lira (approx. 150 USD) per night it seemed as too basic accomodation and not good value for money. Nevertheless, my memories of my stay there are good. - building is indeed very beautiful and... More

I normally try and stay in hotels that give a feel for the country rather than a modern skyscraper so that is why I chose the Buyuk Kervansaray. If my friend wasn't already staying at the hotel when I arrived I would have gone elsewhere. Although the courtyard is very atmospheric and typical of an old silk road hotel the... More

This hotel has such amazing atmosphere and history. Having their excellent buffet breakfast in the courtyard is a real pleasure and the place exudes charm and character. For my first stay here I'd booked a double but when they showed us the room it had twin beds and they said they didn't have any with a double bed. Instead they... More

Possıbly November was too late as there was no atmosphere. Staff were helpful. Generally over-rated and over-prıced.

This hotel is one of the most unique places we stayed during our three week trip to Turkey. It is an old kervansaray from Silk Road days, updated to modern standards, but with all the atmosphere intact. Rooms are very small, but adequate. The central courtyard has a very wide-ranging breakfast buffet in the morning, and serves as an outdoor... More

Prices at this hotel are unnecessarily steep, for what you get. The building is amazing and worth visiting for dinner in the courtyard. Our room had a broken toilet that leaked into the shower. The staff forgot about our reservation made weeks in advance, and quoted us a higher price than we had originally heard. The room smelled like smoke,... More

I stayed here in early May 2010 while on a backpacking trip through southeast Turkey. The building itself is a gorgeous, character-filled old caravansaray, and the courtyard is a lovely place to sit and have a drink or meal. (They are licensed, which is nice.) The fountain, greenery and peace and quiet are a welcome relief from the heat and... More

A renovated caravanserai, the sprawling Hotel Buyuk Kervansaray exudes an old-world charm. The staff is helpful, one of the receptionists speaks fluent English and there is a tour guide (from about 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Mehmet, who runs a carpet and kilim shop and speaks several languages (including English), so communication is not a problem. The rooms are not... More
