Just returned yesterday 02/11/09 to UK after a weeks stay at the Surmeli. Lovely place, Staff were nice but remember this is 5 star "Turkish style" That meant the food was pretty monotonous, (when eventually you could find a free table) and the a la carte restaurants were unavailable. First off, anyone who thinks that this is going to be an executive incredible 5 star hotel at such a low price is bananas. If you did your research about Turkey, you'd know that the hotels are generally rated one above there. So it's fair to give this hotel the 5 star rating, as it is really a 4 star... more

The hotel is three miles from anywhere, so going for a walk after dinner involves walking along an unlit dual carriageway, and there are no local bars and shops to provide for ones needs. Maybe in season it might have been a different holiday. After recent storms the sea was cold, but we had 4 pools to choose from.OH NO WE DIDN'T. Indoor closed,1 green ,the 2 outdoor were FREEZING.
