There is not a whole lot going on in Kanchanaburi, however this hotel is a bit far away from the main town. My boyfriend and I walked over the bridge over the river Kwai (a bit of a novelty) to get to town but it is a decent walk. Taxi drivers charge you more for this hotel as it is... More

Clearly this was once a grand resort, however appears to have languished in recent years and some parts of the hotel are a bit dilapidated. Pros: - Large clean rooms with river facing balconies, shaded from the afternoon sun (thankfully). - Huge, spotlessly cleaned bathroom with semi-modern features. - Very close to Kwai Bridge, an excellent shortcut into town (be... Stayed here while on Kumuka Tour. This hotel could again be great but now is in need of a face lift. Good sized rooms and good pools and fitness centre on site. The saving grace is the location on the bank of the River Kwae and short walk to the Bridge. There are several small decks and swings installed along... More

The hotel is beautiful and the setting, by the river, is wonderful. However, having stayed here 2 years ago and loved it, we were very disappointed. The hotel ‘s main focus now is business conventions, and each day they are catering for hundreds of delegates. Tourists are very much of secondary importance . Sad!

Hotel Location is the selling point of this hotel. It took us approx 10 mins to walk to the Bridge. Just over the Bridge are restaurants etc. There isn't very much hotel side of Bridge. We had a pleasant meal in The Floating Restaurant, which I would say was more like a cafe. Food very reasonably priced. I would not... More

Great place to unwind relax. All rooms garden side riverside very scenic. Well maintained lawns flower beds. Super food spread for b fast. One significant drawback is the fact that language is not understood by the reception. Room safe and locker flimsy. Can be easily opened. Just one long screw. So did not inspire safety. Tours desk not good enough,... More

We went to Kanchanaburi for the AMA Adenture Race, where the organisers had booked all the runners into the Felix. Although a little old the Felix is a lovely place to spend a couple of days. The riverside location is serene, our room looked right onto the river, a stones throw away from our balcony, on the other side of... More

This is a beautiful property right at the riverside. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with a little private terrace attached to each room. It is quite a large resort and there are lovely paths that wander around the fish ponds, flower beds and swimming pools.

Arriving in Kanchanaburi late in the after-noon, all the guest houses were full, so we had to go little further to Felix river kwai were the hotel was very empty. I had called from a public phone to check they still had room and upon arrival they ask us looking clearly at our backpacks if we knew their prices, I... More
