We stayed here for 3 nights and it was really nice. The bed was very soft and comfortable -- very rare in Asian budget hotels. We got the fan room for only 250B and it was quite hot so if you can afford it - pay the extra 100 baht for a/c. It did have a flat screen TV with... More

Stayed here for a few nights initially and extended our stay. Excellent value, secure and friendly. Excellent restuarant Although in need of a bit of TLC. Would recommend this place to anyone on a budget looking for value for money in a great location.

Great location on the tourist road but remains quiet. Beautiful exotic gaeden with clean pool, facing the Kwai river. Really clean cozy rooms (deluxe) and rather basic, but nice basic ones. Good AC. Very helpful and always smiling receptionist helped with organizing our trips. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, grossery stores and street food. Really worth to go to night... More

For a little over $20US/night, we had a beautiful room with a private bath, a great AC, and nice decor. The pool was a big plus because Kanchanaburi was HOT! So why not 5 stars? Because this hotel (like seemingly all of them in Kanchanaburi) both allows and perhaps even sets up prositutes with white men. There were at least... More

This can be added to the list of great and cheap places to stay in Kanchanaburi. The room in this guesthouse was probably the best I have stayed in anywhere in Thailand, and certainly for the 700 baht price (an AC double room with private bathroom). The room was decorated beautifully, with a number of lamps, good lighting, a big... More

The attitude of the staff will make or break a stay in any hotel or B&B, and we were very disappointed by our experience at Tara. The room itself was of a good standard, although the drainage of the shower had not been set correcly so that there was water lying on the bathroom floor. The "restaurant" was at the... More

I stayed in a budget, shared bath, fan room. The room was clean and the people very helpful and gracious. I had a slight problem with my room and it was fixed immediately. There was a good fan, hooks to hang clothes on, towels, clean bathrooms, toilet paper and water cleaning, a TV with remote and best of all, use... More

An early start from Bangkok had us arriving at Kanchanaburi bus station mid morning. Many tour guides are waiting for you. We arranged with one, Mr Ban, to take us to Tara and later take us to Hellfire Pass. Tara can also arrange tours but we thought it more cost effective as we saved on the fare from bus station... This was one of the cheaper hotels in Kanchanaburi when we booked it. The standard was high though. The room had a nice big bed, a small fridge and was very clean. The staff working there was very friendly. The airconditioning and Wifi in the room worked perfect! We liked the location. It took about 20 minutes to walk to... More

Really good value for money, great room, really clean & excellent staff. Good breakfast & it has a bar on the street which is a great place to meet new people.
