Lonely planet had the red rose as their best pick. It is a theme hotel where each room has a disney type theme. My room as the star wars room complete with the automatic opening door in the foyer and backlit star scenes on the walls and the mirrored shower room. what they didn't say is that it is now... More

Arrived in Chiang Rai yesterday, checked into the Wiang Inn, checked out the next day. Very old and shabby. The reception is nice but rooms are dated and definatley not worth the money (rubbish breakfast too!!) We moved to the Red Rose this morning, and love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a choice of rooms from 350 baht up to 3,500.... More

We found this hotel on our lonely planet guide (rated with a heart), we thought it could be fun indeed... But unlike the 4 previous reviews of this hotel, we did not have the chance to stay in a "fancy disney room" and got instead some kind of old fashion classic room. Wallpaper from the 70's, very dark room since... More

This is defenitely one of the wackiest places to stay in Chiang Rai. Rooms look like youre in the middle of disneyland. We stayed at the "starwars room". This room was spacious, huge shower with mirrors everywhere. The only problem in the starwars room was the automatic door from the hallway to the bedroom. At night it spontaniously opens en... More

This hotel is just one of a kind! We had been reading about it online (after seeing the recommondation in Lonely Planet) - but it just something you have to see to believe. We had a "cartoon room" - slept in a car. Room was big and clean. A bit dark, though. People who worked there were friendly and helpful.... More

This is by far the funkiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Each room has a theme - such as Star Wars, Thai Boxing, Aladdin, Tarzan, Mickey Mouse, Spa, Cars, etc. Rooms start at 350 baht/night with many interesting rooms at 500 baht/night. The most expensive room was 3,800 baht/night, complete with a 2-story room and spa inside your room.... More

I apologize profusely - I have NOT stayed at this hotel! But I love tripadvisor and until somebody else can properly review this place, I just want to submit this note to everybody else who loves tripadvisor. Although the Lonely Planet calls this place "perfect for families," it is actually a Japanese-type Love Hotel. In other words, the rooms are... More
