We were in Khao Lak for volunteer work and chose Ayara for its beach location and because friends had recommended it to us from their visit. The staff was fantastic, Orawan the manager was visible and available to us and helped arrange for special meals and trips for us. As others have mentioned the pool side rooms can be a... More

Reservations via Sawadee. No problem on check-in. Size: Family Villa (for 2ad/2sub-teens). 1 queen. 1 twin, and they graciously did not charge for a rollaway bed (usually we build one kid-nest on the floor with blankets etc). Clean, not the newest but very comfortable, if somewhat darkish room though we only saw one unit. Not complaining - we don't go... More

This establishment is set right on the Bang Niang beach. This is good value for money for all types of travelers. The beach is fantastic. The garden villas are great and some are set close to the beach. Amenities offered are good. Access to other restaurants etc is just a short walk. Bang Niang is generally a quiet and relaxing... my wife and i stayed here during our honeymoon and found the hotel to be adequate. the resort was a little bit dated, but comfortable enough and decent value for money within the context of khao lak. the beach location was nice and the hotel was within walking distance to a number of decent restaurants. the service at the hotel... This resort is a cute little resort, offering a range of good accommodation. The swimming pools at the back of the resort are nice and it is not a long walk to the beach (although across a small but quiet road). The rooms are spacious but basic and top floor rooms require a small trek to the beach. The restaurant... More

It's a basic hotel with a great beach location. Don't expect any frills or luxury. If you're coming to Khao Lak to hit the beach, this is fine -- clean and quiet. The breakfast is basic, but the coffee is fine.

We have just returned from two weeks at Ayara Villas. We came at the end of the low season and for the first 12 nights of our stay we were the only people staying there! We had the "Holiday House" - a roomy 2 bed 2 bath villa with kitchen which was perfect for our family of four. We had... More

We stayed in villa A1 which was the villa about 5 meters from the beach. The villa has all the basic facilities, but the hanging space in the cupboard was very tiny, with the safe getting in the way of the clothes hanging properly. It didn't worry us too much as most of our clothes were casual and of the... More

Arrived in Khao Lak in the "monsoon" season, not knowing that the Similan Islands would be closed until November. We just picked Ayara off the map given to us and the taxi took us there. We negotiated a very low room rate since it was such low season, there were only 4 other guests. The place is beautiful, management so... More
