I thought that this was going to be just another average hotel in Taiwan. But, this far exceeded my expectations.
The room rate was roughly about $65 USD a night, and for that you get a large bathroom, flat screen TV, safe, Beds, desk, internet, and free breakfast. The staff is trilingual, Chinese, English, and Japanese.

Nice hotel, spacious rooms with all ameneties. Most extensive breakfeast buffet, with choice of just about any kind of breakfeast you could fancy. Good place to stay for a business trip; several good restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Perhaps not a good choice for a tourist trip, as the area has few real attrations.
When it comes to 4 or 5 star hotels in Hsinchu, there's very little choice (but if you want a cheaper place, 2-3 star, there are hundreds). The Lakeshore is competitive with the best, but much better value (around $100). The road noise can be a loud. Not that there's a problem changing rooms if this gets to you.

The hotel is located in a vibrant locality with numerous shops, eateries, massage parlours, banks and Hsinchu's newest shopping mall with a multiplex. The hotel provides all the material comforts that a typical business traveller expects - clean spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms,...

Have been staying at this hotel for 5 years now (12 + times) during business trips. There is not much around for novice westerners, but the adventurous can find some excellent asian food places nearby, and if you don't want to leave the hotel, the restaurant, which has an excellent morning buffet breakfast included in the rate, also has excellent...
