The hotel is close to airport and until you go inside your room everything looks great.. large & nice green lawns .. well maintained swimming pool .. From outside someone can mistake it for a proper 4* resort ... but the room quality is 2* at best .... with old broken tiles, noisy window air conditioner and not so comfortable... more

We had a stopover between flights (7 hours) and were put up at the Tamarind Tree by Sri Lankan Airlines. A 2-3 star hotel at best. Rooms are old and not exactly clean. Thirty six hours spent there waiting for my plane and I truly enjoyed it. Each bungalow has three small apartments which could be upgraded. What I really liked was the 1950-like atmosphere. We stayed at Tamarind Tree for one night, very central for airport but this is the only positive point. We declined 2 rooms and had to accept the third, in order to keep curtains drawn we had to place stool in doorway because they were falling down, the room had cobwebs, cigarette ash, a badly chipped glass table, dirty toilet... more

This hotel is only 5 -10 minutes from Colombo Airport, but we heard no aircraft noise at all.
