it is expensive but worth a treat when you arrive tired early in the morning at the airport, or after long hours in the bus or train on the way back...The rooms are excellent, the pool just fine ....for pampering! we went directly to Kandy by red bus {no sleep] which was a bit of a mistake as we were... We stayed at Villa Araliya for 3 nights when we arrived very late after a 30+ hour journey from home. Staff were welcoming, the room was gorgeous, very artistic, the pool is pleasant. The lane is quiet and in that way preferable to a beach side location as the beach is not really a great swimming beach. Stephanie and Palitha... More

I live in sri Lanka and always recommand Villa Araliya to people traveling through NEGOMBO, nobody has ever been disappointed , the pizzas on "Pizza night" are the real thin crust type and a delight ! It is spotlessly clean, design is lovely, beautiful pool in a garden full of fragrant Plumeria trees ... More

We stayed at the two bedroom apartment as we were arriving on a late flight and were carrying on the next morning. There was one double bedroom and one twin room. Both had mosquito nets and the double room also had a balcony. The bathroom was shared between the two and there was a kitchen/living room downstairs. The size was... More

We recommend the place: very welcoming staff (even at 3am!), clean and charming bedrooms, nice swimming pool, peaceful and quiet place, very close to the beach (5 min walk) and great breakfast :) A wonderful holidays' start in Sri Lanka. The + : We had to leave very early in the morning (5am) so they arranged a delicious take-away breakfast... More

We stayed at Villa Araliya for one night before our flight. Its very quiet and relaxed with alot of cats and dogs around that the owner adopted. The room was actually an entire house with a kitchen, two bathrooms and a big bedroom and balcony. The buildings are well thought out and constructed. The only negative was the mosquitos, but... We had a great stay in Villa Araliya: we liked the tasty and sober spacious rooms, the well-maintained pool area, the friendly staff, and the peaceful atmosphere. The perfect end to our trip in Sri Lanka! More

The villas are spacious and clean, they seem fairly new. Every room has a balcony with seats. The young staff were welcoming and do a good job. The owners have some well cared for rescue animals, a few cats, dogs and a large tortoise. Animal lovers will love to see the good work carried out by an associated charity and... More

The room was adequate though the AC was quirky. The walk to the more interesting part of Negombo was a little further than expected. If breakfast was included we left too early and were not offered any to go items as many other places have. There were no amenities like shampoo etc. just a soap dispenser. We thought the price... A comfortable stay just a short walk from the beach with a good pool. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, rooms clean and comfortable with AC and fan. Parties on the beach can be heard from your room (not their fault!) and breakfast is fairly basic - Fruit, eggs and toast, tea/coffe. The hotel as many others has a... More
