Stayed here in November 2011 and it was perfectly adequate. Sri Lanka is just emerging from 30 years of civil war so many of the tourist facilities are still stuck in the past, as they were in the 70s before the war took hold and people stopped visiting. Don't get blinded by the nice-looking reception area. Rooms are extremely old and dirty. Matresses are thin, hard and filthy. Bathroom looks ok, but is smelly because the showerdrain is just an open hole to the sewer.
