Everything ... Every thing about our stay at nisala arana was heavenly... The whole property is designed and maintained like an old heritage bungalow and preserved from scratch... The windows, bend told us are about 100 years old... !!! Huge rooms, with a calming old world feeling... No tv and no ad is a welcome change, and the suites have... More

I stayed here in December 2012 with my husband and another couple and we very very well looked after. We were greeted pretty early in the morning due to our rather unsociable flight times, by Kevin and Jill, and Ben, who were very welcoming! We were shown to our room immediately as there was no one staying there before us,... More

Nisala Arana is one of the best and most unique places we stayed during our 2 week trip to Sri Lanka. The rooms and grounds are just gorgeous, the service very friendly and personal. I agree with the other review--It is more like paying a visit than staying in a hotel. We especially appreciated one of the staff volunteering to... More

This is the first review that we have posted on Trip Advisor and we felt that it was absolutely necessary to write, given the experience we have just had at this wonderful hotel (and it is very difficult to call it a hotel as you feel like you are staying with the most wonderful and charming hosts). We chose this... More

This was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. The night we arrived the setting was magical. There was an incredible banquet of delicious food prepared in advance and we were seated at a candlelit table on the lawn. Many of our group had arrived from Europe that day so they were immediately transported into the magic of this... More

If only we had known about Nisala Arana earlier we would have stayed longer. One night was not enough. We had been touring Sri Lanka on a motor bike for 3 weeks & this was at the end of our trip & what a treat it was. When I booked Ben assured me I would love our room & wouldn't... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 2 nights at Nisala Arana at the end of our backpacking/surfing trip of Sri Lanka. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly and lovely spot to stop in the area. We ate at the hotel... More

Although it is about 10 minutes from town, if you want to chill out and relax this is the place to go. It has lovely gardens and the service and food are both excellent. The Doctor's house is gorgeous and if I was going back that is where I would stay. This is a perfect location for a small group... More
