A very comfortable and pleasant small hotel located right in the old walled city of Akko. The rooms are clean and attractive and the restoration of the building is nicely done. The neighborhood is fascinating with lots of historic sites and a lovely location on the coast (but the swimming beach is south of the old city). Although it is... More

we stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 2011. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Rooms with double beds are larger than those with twin beds. As others have said this is a family run hotel. The staff are friendly and personable. They go out of their way to help in every way. Here are some examples: * my wife... More

The reviews and Lonely Planet write up make this place out to be palatial. Based on the outside, it is. Inside, it's a little drab and the rooms are basic. Nothing is by any means horrible (besides being a little noisy at night) but temper your expectations before you go. I felt like we were paying for the location. More

Located in the best spot in town, with free parking for guests and some great views. Lovely place to stay. Excellent rooms. big, clean and has everyting you need. The Owner is a remarkable man, you must meet and hear his story. we stayed for one night, wished we stayed some more. More

By Israeli non-chain standards this was very nice. The room was reasonably sized, clean and well equipped. The staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. the breakfast was cracking. There is some parking at the front which was useful, everything was close at hand. Don't miss the 'terrace' on the third floor, the views are terrific. More

On arrival at the hotel we were impressed by the friendly service and the fact that we were able to check in to our room early. The room was attractive and a lovely size. It had a sofa with a TV, then in front of the bed there was a small table and chairs, a kitchen area with a kettle... More

My husband and I recently returned from a 15 day trip to Israel. We traveled the country and stayed at several hotels. The Akkotel provided a perfect location, accomodations, and an exceptionally gracious and hospitable staff. We arrived early and were allowed to check in. Management made our dinner reservations. The room was spacious, clean, with a grand feel for... More

The staff was very attentive and polite. The breakfast was more than ample. We had the room with a loft and a second room with a queen size bed. Both rooms were large, especially for European standards. Both were very clean. Parking was available right outside the hotel. Also located close to the Arab market and the Tunisian synagauge. The... We had booked into this hotel as part of a tour of Israel without realising it was Eid just after the end of Ramadan. The town was extremely busy and lively and the road to the hotel was blocked off by police because of the festivities. However our taxi driver called the hotel and a member of staff came out... More

This was my second stay at Akkotel, in ancient Akko, Israel. This boutique hotel is a marvel of restoration - built into the antique Ottoman Turkish walls surrounding the Old City, it has been restored inside and out. Lovely details like exposed tufa brick archways adorn the hotel and rooms. Clean, quiet, a hearty breakfast provided as well as restaurant... More
