We stayed with friends and our two kids (10 and 7) at the Hotel Deli River on our arrival and departure (four nights in total). The rooms had inter-connectig doors and were perfectly comfortable. We enjoyed some of the best food we ate in Sumatra at the restaurant and enjoyed conversations with the friendly staff and owners. Our children loved... More

We booked this hotel based on its excellent reviews. We came in during a violent thunderstorm after a long day's journey from Lake Toba, and were a little surprised at the isolated setting and grassy driveway and deserted parking lot. However, it soon became apparent that we were in good hands. The staff consists of several very bright university coeds... More

There were six of us - four adults and two children - who arrived late one evening after a long trip from Australia. We were met at the airport as arranged and when we got to the Deli River there was no fuss - staff showed us to our rooms (with check-in left to the next morning). Lovely. Our rooms... More

There were 6 families in our group (13 adults, 10 children) when we visited Medan. We occupied 6 out of 8 rooms available at this hotel. We just put up a night here. Its quite a distance from town, so if you plan to go shopping at Pasar Ikan, I would not recommend you to stay here. With the heavy... More

We began and ended our week-long stay with Tri Jaya tours by staying at Hotel Deli River. The setting was lovely, the pool was wonderful, the rooms were clean and well organised, and the staff were absolutely delightful. Free WiFi was good, and the restaurant was excellent (which was lucky, since it's the only restaurant accessible on foot!). All services... More

My wife and I visited the hotel in November and we have nothing, but good to say about the hotel and the service. The hotel is a lovely haven of peace in comparison to the hectic city outside. The rooms were bright and clean, the restaurant served delicious Dutch and Indonesian food, breakfast was served overlooking the duck pond, the... More

I came to Sumatra on the spur of the moment for 6 days. I stayed here for 2 days and then Trijaya (the tour company operated by the owners of the hotel) organised me a trip to the highlands although these were very busy with the holidays. The I came back to Medan for the last day. It is a... More
