Majestic to look at, but showing signs of age. Fridge, drinking water, coffee, tea all provided. Good bed. Bathroom needs help, the overhead shower vent was moldy, the sink and the bathtub were showing their age and starting to deteriorate. Very clean though. Bar service downstairs was woeful, very nice and formal, but useless. It took 3 goes to get... More

This was a nice hotel with original local atmosphere but with good equipped rooms like a Best Western Hotel. The de luxe room has a view on Bukittinggi which was very scenic, worth the small extra payment, although the room was the same as the standard room. The location is very central, close to the square with the famous clocktower,... More

Stayed here for two nights. The entrance and lobby are impressive. In the circular lobby, they maintain a beautiful fountain with floating flower petals in pretty patterns. The lobby was quiet comfortable to lounge away at, which was helpful if you want to use wifi since signal strength in the rooms was poor. Of course, lobbies are not everything. The... More

The hotel located in the central of Bukittinggi. You can go by walk to Jam Gadang in 1 minute and to Panorama Ngarai Sianok in 10 minutes, the main tourist attractions in Bukittinggi. The traditional market also only by walk. It also has good mountain views. The hotel facilities is good, complete and well maintained. The food also good and... More

It is located smack center of the town. 1 min. Walk to Jam Gadang. We stay during the eid fitri holidays when the locals play fireworks all through the night at the Jam Gadang. Made it v difficult to sleep. Rooms are small (european size). Water pressure in bathroom is v strong, a nice touch. No gym only pool. We... More

Luxury hotel with a lot of local visitors each evening. Room on topmost floor is nicely decorated and has style. Because of the atrium and floortiles the sound level in the hotel is high. But most disturbing was the irritating noise from a mosque or neighbouring buildings very early in the morning -- about 04.30, all 3 mornings we stayed... More

Its one of the nicest hotels in the area. The hotel has a very big atrium and has a classic colonial look. The regular buffet was not impressive and I enjoyed the food at a local restaurant located opposite the hotel far more than the items of the hotel's buffet. I didn't order a la carte so can't comment on... More

I visited The hills for business purpose and it's the last stop in my itinerary so I was so bone tired and I have a bundle of dirty laundry that I need to do. I checked in around 03PM and I will only stay for a night and will be checking out at 09AM the day after. I called the... More

its in the centre of town, walking distance to the Clock Tower (Jam Gadang). I like the room and the view where one can see the mountains surrounding the town. Room is very clean so is the bathroom, but breakfast is so-so, nothing to shout about. Staff is ever so friendly and helpful, check in and out was a breeze. More
