This was once a grand resort. It's aging badly. The paint jobs are sloppy, the wood on the mirror is flaking, and the grout in the shower is coming lose. The room was reasonably clean, but not spotless by any means. The air conditioning worked well. We left the air on for the white noise. There are 4 rooms per... More

I stayed in this hotel again from 3. to 28.Oct 2011 and have been impressed by the positive changes which occured since my last visit in 2009. Quality of food has improved a lot, staff seemed to be well trained, friendly and helpful and everything has been well organized and punctual, which is not normal in this part of the... More

We stayed here 3 nights to rest (our second stay here, 4 years ago we stayed here too). This hotel is very beautiful located close to the sea, in the middle of nature, but far away from town. The hotel has a free shuttle which goes daily (to order little bit in advance) to the shopping mall in town, arriving... More

First impressions were that the hotel was somewhat run down. After a few days, this did not seem to matter. Everything worked - we had no problems with electrics, plumbing, locks etc as others seem to have done. Our room was always clean and the huge bed was comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - yes, their... More

A friend and I stayed for 1 week at Santika Resort after spending the previous 9 days at Kasawari-Lembeh Resort so we were a little bit spoiled. At check-in it was apparent that the staff had little English and it continued to be an annoyance during the week. Except for simple, direct requests there was little comprehension of the more... From the moment that we were picked up from the airport until we were dropped off three weeks later we felt a very warm friendship from virtually all the staff. For us it was the celebration of our 12 1/2 year wedding anniversary and the staff really made it a memorable day. Our bed was decorated with flowers, the BBQ... More

It is with much regret that I am writing this review for hotel Santika. My partner and I stay at this hotel frequently over the past few years as the dive center at this hotel, Thalassa is the best in the world. Over the years, this hotel is showing its age and it is not maintained well at all. We... More

We stayed in a Bungalow. The first night we complained about no hot water for the shower. The 2nd night we finally got hot showers but the front door lock didn't open so we had to access our room from the back door. The 3rd night (Christmas) they let off some fireworks at 11 pm and didn't forewarn the guests,... More

"Unpretentious" was my strongest impression of this hotel. In a similar situation two years ago -- choosing the hotel because the dive service was located there -- I stayed in a really over-reaching hotel in Labuan Bajo, the jump-off for Komodo. This hotel was much more comfortable, an easy place to relax. I did think the rooms were perhaps a... More

First the good bits: the dive shop attached to the hotel, Thalassa, is excellent and perfectly located to dive the wonders of the Bunaken marine reserve. And the spa does good massages. But you don't have to stay at Santika to use Thalassa, and we recommend that you don't. The property should have everything going for it: good buildings, nice... More
