The website of Mutiara Beach Guesthouse aptly describes this place "off-beat Bintan... are you looking for the real Bintan? it is about slowing down... "! In true sense this place is all about slowing yourself down, giving yourself, your mind, your body and your companion the time it deserves. This so far has been one of the best holidays that... More

Looking for a weekend getaway from Singapore we found this place well-ranked among Bintan accommodations. Skeptical because of all bad reports about Bintan sea, we read all previous reviews here, especially the worst ones; owner's replies, reasonable clear and kind, were what convinced us. We want to assure that this is the best solution for those who think the real... More

This is a very simple place which works very well by not doing much. The pondoks and bathrooms are basic but comfortable, clean and functional. The restaurant provides a range of well-cooked and extremely good value food - fresh grilled fish for S$6 is hard to beat. There is also an authentic pizza place down the road if you feel... More

Mutiara was just the kind of getaway I was looking for. A relaxing, beachy, no-frills getaway - purely an escape. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and were great showing me around and answering all my questions. The bungalows were comfy and the food awesome. Even though he was away, Marc was very responsive in answering my questions. The... More

It's a very unique guesthouse, you feel like you are living in a wild place but you don't miss anything...you can eat and drink easily (and it's good), beds are ok, bathrooms are basic but clean and quite convenient. The pondoks are really nice, it's like being a kid in a hut! The atmosphere at the river SPA is the... More

Love the rustic feel of the place with the back to basics pondoks which makes the 1 hr drive from the jetty worth it. It is away from the commercialised resorts and you would love the pristine beach (you share the beach with a few others only and at most times, you can almost have the whole beach to yourself... My wife and I spent four nights at Mutiara over the Chinese New Year break. We got everything we wanted and more. Just to be clear, our expectations were that we'd get away from the technology and hubbub of Singapore for a few days of beach-combing, reading and generally relaxing. If you're after a programmed, event-packed holiday with all the... More

Nice low-key place where you can go for a relaxing stay out of Singapore. Easily accessible by cab, prices not really low, but all in all a very nice place to stay. Staff really friendly and I urge you to take a massage at the spa (75 minutes for 38 singdollar). I might go back in this semester that im... More

This is definitely the hardest hotel review I’ve ever written. Mutiara offers an incredibly unique experience that, for some people, must seem like the very definition of paradise… but it’s not for everyone. Hopefully I’ll explain what I mean in the remainder of the review. We stayed in the Spa Villa for three nights. Our party was a three-generation group... More

dear December guest thank you for taking the time of writing this comprehensive review, which we find to be fair; your review will help our future guests better understand our concept, which is to offer an off-beat Bintan experience, with focus on Indonesian traditional lifestyle in original natural surroundings December is the most challenging time of the year, as the... That was definitely a really good break during my journey in Singapore. The place is definitely out of the resorts area in Bintan and that is just delightful! I was feeling like Robinson Crusoe, back to basics and that makes you think about our modern way of living. Accomodations are nice and definitely clean, staff is so nice and helpful... More
