I just spent several nights at Melati cottages and it's a great choice if you are looking for something clean, basic and quiet (with a pool). Prices start at around $25 a night for a single room in low season which includes breakfast (basic but adequate). The staff are all very lovely and couldn't be friendlier. My only suggestion would... Melati Cottages is a small place to stay in Ubud. It has about 8 cottages in each building. The rooms are a bit dated, but it is a comfortable bed in a great quiet location. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was wonderful. Every morning their was fresh fruit, banana or pineapple filled crapes, or... More

Lovely gardens and pool, room (air conditioned) was a welcome respite from the heat. Bathroom a bit dated, but all very clean. Wonderful, cheerful service and very helpful. Not necessary to use the main (busy) street if one can navigate the neighborhood paths (gangs). Good restaurants nearby, easy access to taxis.

Very nice and clean place. Great view and garden. Rooms are done every day, swimming pool is clean and fresh. The only downside was a group of people studying Balinese culture and dances. Lessons took part in dancing hall which was 15 metres from our bungalow. Sounds of people practicing Kecak dance is definitely not what you would like to... More

My family of three stayed here for just one night earlier this month. We spent IDR 600,000 (USD 62), but may have been able to bargain down a bit with some effort. It takes 20-25 minutes to walk to the corner of Monkey Forest Road and Ubud Main Street. And the traffic does not make it a pleasant walk. On... More

I will start this review with my only criticism - the rooms are a little worn and the bathrooms could do with an update. They are scrupulously clean, but their age makes them look a little grotty, and that is the only reason I am not giving Melati 5 stars. Apart from that, I have only good things to say... More

My sister was doing a yoga retreat and I met up with her after she finished and was lucky enough to get room 7 all to myself! I could not believe what I got for the price (40 au per night) i had this huge apartment with aircon a bathroom with bath and a big balcony overlooking my very own... More

My first stop in Ubud and what a sanctuary after Kuta! Spent 4 nights on a retreat with a group and felt sorry to leave. Gracious and unassuming staff who remember your name and melt into the background until you need their assistance. As previous reviewers noted, some of the trimmings aren't present and a good clean of the mozzie... More

A beautiful grounds with spacious rooms, a nice pool, good breakfast, and helpful staff. I've seen cleaner bathrooms in my life, but have also definitely seen much dirtier ones. The location is a somewhat intense walk from Monkey Forest road and it's surroundings, but it's doable. Plus, there are shops and restaurants closer by if you don't want to wander... More

When reviewing this place, it must be remembered that this is a low - mid range resort. I stayed here for sixteen days and had a room to myself for $35 AUS. The room was very large and spacious with a double bed and a single bed, charming wooden floors and a huge balcony over looking the surrounding gardens and... More
