Pros: 1. EXCELLENT LOCATION 2. Courteous staff Cons: 1. the rooms are quite ok 2. bathroom is below average with the fittings sometimes quite loose. 3. AC is quite noisy 4. Try to avoid the room (214 i guess) as there's a telephone outside the door and its really terrible with the phone ringing way into the night. 5. Break fast was included in my package, and taste was average. In spite of above i will recommend this hotel to friends.

As the title suggests , its basically bed n breakfast .. the only plus point is the location which is close to the main clock tower market . . Otherwise nothing great about this place compared to its previous location .

The location of the hotel is very good, right on the main Rajpur Road. The hotel is divided into 2 wings. The bigger and slightly better part of the hotel is the former Hotel Shahenshah which has been leased by Great Value. The other smaller wing which houses the economy room is the former Hotel Shipra, also taken over by Great Value. I've stayed in both wings and found both disappointing. The suite and rooms are basic, the suite smelt of dampness from the carpet. The restaurant which is situated in the larger wing was nice and the food was good. They have 2 bars, the one in the shahenshah wing was nice but the one in the shipra wing was dark, dingy and creepy.

As i said in the subject. The room was good enough, but the washroom was a nightmare. Still i can recommend this hotel to my friends. The people on the reception was good and courteous. Also the kitchen department was not in order to provide a service properly. They just have pakodas, spring rolls and french fries for breakfast if you want to opt for in room service. All together i can recommend to stay here.

Hotel great value, dehradun is ideally located on the Rajpura road, with a lot of eating & shopping joints nearby, perfect location, value for money, good food......but the biggest setback for the hotel is its maintenance, poorly maintained hotel with average service, the management need to pull up their socks in order to bring in more and more guests, if these things are taken care of, then it could be one of the best Hotel in Dun.....

Cleanliness can be improved. I paid a bit higher than usual due to rush in Dehradun. But is an ok budget hotel. Hotel staff was mostly prompt in servicing requests. What little i tried from the restaurant, seemed ok. Did not try the breakfast

we are a doctor couple,n we hardly get time to plan a holiday.so on this rare extended weekend that we got,we planned a short trip to dehradoon-mussourie..we booked this hotel online for around 4thousand per night.we checked in,n checked out almost immediately. the room had molds on the walls...the commode seat was broken, the bath tub had stains..as if that was not enough, the bedsheet was stained with some creepy substance... the blanket smelled of pungent sweat...the pillow cover had gravy stains on it. we called the manager so that he could check the condition of the room himself.. but he sent a housekeeping staff instead who offered to change the bedsheets. we insisted on talking to the manager...the manager said the rooms are under construction( as if thats a valid reason for having such filthy bedsheets n pillows)..he offered to show us 3 4 different room....but they was hardly different from the previous one.. we immediately looked for another hotel,n decided to checkout... the manager said as the payment was made online,no refunds could be made... but whatever,we just couldnt bear to spend even a night there...eeew.. it was that bad... there is a humble request ...do not book this hotel ...atleast not without checking the room urself. wish we had taken the photographs of the room...…

Great Value used to be one of the best hotels in Dehradun for business travellers till few years back. This time when I stayed, it was a shock for me to see the deterioration in the overall quality of the hotel. Hotel has lost it's value drastically. Although the staff was courteous enough to take care of all the needs but some how not a good hotel to recommend.

Visited there in March 14 for a night stay. I have referred combination of some good & bad reviews before booking so i was ready for surprises. Tariff is ok (or little high?) compare to the service and room conditions. Though my stay was comfortable but i feel hotel can do better in room condition, services (Breakfast etc.)

I stayed at Hotel Great Value in Dehradun for about 28 nights in March/April. I arrived in the morning and was greeted courteously and given the key to my room. The room itself was small, but cosy. Just right for a single business traveler. One of the great things about this hotel is the location. The Chef arranged some light food for me as I was weary from the heavy stuff I was having at other places.
