to clarify something that seems to pop up a lot on the varanasi reviews...you CANNOT take a vehicle (except scooters) to almost any of the hotels/hostels in the old city so you will be required to walk between 5 and 15 minutes through a poop-littered maze of alleys to get to your place. prepare thyself. and scindhia is no exception.... We chose this place on the reviews from tripadvisor and Lonely Planet. We didn't book and so when we turned up they only had one room left, the double AC with balcony.
