We stayed at Mishra over a week - and enjoyed! Room with double bed and bathroom was clean and spacious, and even it was boiling hot outside - room stayed cool. Guesthouse's rooftop restaurant served good food with reasonable prices. They have pretty much everything at the guesthouse; restaurant, internet cafe, laundry service and they will help you with train/bus... More

Stayed at Mishra gh for a week. Staff is very helpful and will arrange you all you might need in Varanasi. Location is great, next to the river ganga and main burning ghat. Arrange pick-up from the bus-/train station, since it i very difficult to navigate near the ghats. Restaurant upstairs server delicious food at reasonable prices. Recommended!

We stay in this guest house for two days, the behavior of the staff is Excellent, Location of the guest house is side by the river Ganga, but 5-7 minuets walking distance from Auto Stand, 5-7 minuets walking distance from Kasi Biswanath Temple, so if you travel with old man, it is painful for them. Room condition is good. For... More

This place could be pretty good with good prices, if you have ear plugs. Thanks to great acoustics of the guesthouse and the street near it, there were many things which didn't let me to sleep during the week I stayed here: construction works near the guesthouse (at nights!), the staff watching TV at 2AM, the staff jabbering at reception... This place came recommended by the tourist desk at the Varanasi train station. We paid 200 rupees for one of the cheaper rooms without windows. The shower is hot, no bedbugs, great big fan that keeps the room cool--- you really can't complain! We've eaten at the restaurant several times and enjoyed it alot. The staff are super great. There is... More

I learned of Mishra via backpackers grapevine. Came highly recommended. As a lone traveller I stayed in single room with balcony over front entrance alley. The room was a "bit rough" but inexpensive, and I stayed about 5 nights. Roof top restaurant served good food at good prices. Met one man in restaurant (he wasn't staying there) but had been... More

Mishra is a nice hotel near the burning ghat in Varanasi. The rooms are basic and clean. I paid R300 and had a little balcony with a nice view of the Ganges. I would certainly recommend this place to travellers. The rooms are nice and the staff are very helpful. The main guy at reception speaks great English and is... More

We stayed here three nights and loved it. There's a great view of the Ganges from the rooftop restaurant and the rooms are clean. We definitely recommend using the local guide provided by the guesthouse. He's a nice elderly man who speaks great English and provides interesting information on the ghats and temples.

This place was so great. Our plan was to stay at Ganpati but they failed to pick us up at the train station and once we got to the hotel I was disappointed at their false advertising on their website with prices, a/c, etc. Luckily, our friendly rickshaw driver took us to a place he had heard was 'cheaper and... The Mishra was fairly easy for us to find as it has signs painted on the walls in surroundings alleys, directing you to its front door. It's a great place to stay because it has excellent access to the river and is right next to the Manikarnika burning ghat, plus they provide boat trips in the morning and evening for... More
