I recently travelled to Khumbhalgarh for treking in wild and stayed at Karni Palace, which was recommended by my driver. Hotel was clean, comfortable and well serviced by good helping Staff. The real scoring was its food which was tasty and truly Indian.

Kumbhalgarg Fort is fantastic but the hotels are expensive. This is a reasonable budget choice that doesn't seem to have yet hit the guide books. It's clean, close to the bus stop to Udaipur (which you should consider taking as it's so much more entertaining - let alone cheaper - than the sterile taxi drive!) and has a good restaurant... More
