We had a terrific, terrific time here. For us, part of the pleasure was being a part (briefly!) of such a warm and unusual family. We happened to be there during a holiday (Holi) and Chhotaram and his brother went out of their way to make sure that we saw and participated in the whole thing. We saw bonfires at... More

I stayed for two weeks at the lovely Homestay a large family home. My room was fantastically clean and spacious, the home cooked food was delicious. All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The owners, The chhotaram incredibly calming, welcoming and full of useful information. You couldn't ask more from a homestay.

If you want to experience a bit of Indian culture and at the same time escape the tourist trap, I recommend you to pay Chhotaram and his family a visit. It is a tranquil place in the village of Salawas . The food is delicious and cooked traditionally on an open fire . This is the second time we have... More

A very warm welcome greeted us when we arrived in the village. We were shown to our traditional huts (with a western toilet) which was very comfortable. We were shown around and introduced to all family members who were most hospitable. The food was cooked on an open fire and was delicious. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Myself and my friend stayed here in April- we'd booked it based on the excellent reviews on trip advisor so we had high expectations and we weren't disappointed- in fact it exceeded our expectations. Chhotu and his whole family were so welcoming helpful and so kind. We got exactly what we wanted which was an authentic Indian homestay experience but... More

I simply cannot express to you how wonderful this experience was. Every single part of it... The entire family truly did become like my own for the two days we stayed here, they were all beyond amazing! We were really blessed to have stayed there during Holi so we experienced the festival too! The food was the best vegetarian food... More

This is my second stay here. My mom and I booked a group tour in northern India, we made a special trip to this homestay before the tour began. I, again, had an amazing time here. This is a very welcoming, relaxing place. A nice quiet place to get away to and to escape the wonderfaul chaos of the big... More

India is a place of contrasts! 70% of the people of India live in the rural areas. If tourists only experience the cities and main attractions, they have not seen the essence of the country. Chhotaram and his family have created an authentic Indian experience that reveals how the majority of Indians live. My adult daughter and I stayed with... More

We travelled for one month in India with our kids aged 8 and 12 and this was by far the best and most authentic place we visited. Chhoto and his family treated us as their guests and invited us to follow their daily routines so that we could get a feeling of what village life is like. We especially enjoyed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
