Papu and his staff gave us a top notch experience starting from the timely pick-up in Jailsalmer, to the desert trip on camel back, to the evening activities and food. He really understands how to cater to the international traveler in India and delivers great quality and service. I went with my 63 year old father (not a seasoned traveler... More

Finally people were KIND and HOSPITABLE and did stuff for us without asking for extra rupees! The service was excellent and we all felt like MAHARANIS during our stay in Jaisalmer and especially during our CAMEL SAFARI trip and dinner in DAMODRA DESERT CAMP! Will definitely go back! THANK YOU for a wonderful experience of a lifetime! :) -denise

The camp is run by local people, damodra villegers. Nothing touristic issue around this place. I went camel safari in daytime and at night enjoyed dance and live music. The staff was very friendly. Especially the owner called Prithvi gave me a lot of tips about traveling about this area, Jaisalmer as well as all over India. It was great... More

A Wonderful time! Highly Recommended! Damodra is far enough from the main road that is blissfully quiet, and far enough from Jaisalmer that the starry sky is spectacular at night! Papu and all his staff look after you from the moment you arrive. Great entertainment in the evening with traditional Rajasthani Musicians, Singers & Dancers. Followed by superb Rajasthani around... I typically don’t bother writing accommodation reviews, but I was so mesmerized and touched by this place, I felt inspired to write a review.. I guess that’s India for you! I went on a 1 night and 2 day Camel Safari through Trotters Independent Travels (who’ve also received heaps of good reviews on different websites) with just the 5 of... More

This is a 2 month old small camp with just 10 swiss tents with attached baths. A nice open area for a campfire, excellent desert folk music and dancing and simple but tasty vegetarian local fare made our stay here excellent. I must say that this camp is in the middle of nowhere - we were getting a little scared... More

This locates just in non-touristic Damodra village. Here you never meet other tourists but camels, goats, cows and colorful birds. The most recommendable things are the stars like jewelleries, the bigger moon than what I see usually, live music and traditional dance performance at night. The tents are very well furnitured and attentioned. The staff is also very nice, friendly... More
