An option for a quick getaway from Mumbai. Smallish hotel built from the ruins of a fort of the bygone eras. Great for children from Mumbai who do not have much open spaces. Ideal for a 'do nothing' kind of a holiday. The swimming pool is small but good, though drinks take a lot of time to appear as there... More

The Fort -stay is one of the best experiences. They have maintained almost as much as they could of the heritage and have added facilities to make you feel comfortable and happy. It has a huge garden- a delight to sit under the tall trees. Staff is very friendly and keen to make your stay memorable. Now for the negatives:... More

We are Heritage Hotel enthusiasts and, living in Bombay, we have very few good heritage options near by. This hotel is one of the two that we found after quite a bit of research (the other one being Verandah in the forest Matheran). The fort is about 300 years old, and the hotel uses part of the fort walls with... More

The ambience is awesome. Staying in real fort makes is quite exciting. The hotel has maintained quite a lot of fort experience. Museum is also a new thing. But lack of extra circular activities makes it a little boring. Not worth for money. Coming to Food and drinks, rates of 5 Star but none worth it. Very less option in... More

A old time small fort ('gadhi' in Marathi) of a Maratha sardar. The place is nicely retouched and converted into hotel. It has huge lawn of the back where a big group can have fun playing variouse games, which was the case with us. The rooms are small but ok. The fort itself is very small and there's nothing around... The Ambience is awesome right from the time you step into the property..... it takes you through different dimensions. The whole place is like a drama unfolding in different parts, the entrance/reception dim cool and elegant, the rooms are tastefully done with the rain shower or whatever it is called.... the restaurant serves authentic food, just as you would want... Me & my husband spent two nights at the fort (hardly a fort) in the tent accommodation. I'm gonna break down my review basis various rooms & activities. The royal tent - you are not allowed to see even if it is unoccupied. The deluxe balcony room- these rooms have absolutely no character for the price they are charging. The... More

We were at the fort recently for a company outing for the entire day, I must say the place is simply awesome. Hats off to the promoters for salvaging an old fort and converting it into a great hotel. The museums, decors, grounds etc are really good. The food here was 5 star, very well made and the staff was... More
