Our first stop on a reasonably independent trip, and it did feel a little package-y (most of the rooms appear to be in pretty bland blocks, and there's a First Choice noticeboard by Reception), but the overall atmosphere of the place compensated for this pretty well. We were in a first-floor room in the block nearest the beach, and this is definitely the best place to be: the views from our balcony through the palms to the sand and the surf were just what we needed after a long flight.

The room was attractive, and the balcony was fab. The bathroom was a bit tired, but served. We mostly ordered room service - the restaurant was a bit limited and, well, tacky, but the quality and variety of the food brought to our balcony was great.

Only here for one night, and enjoyed ourselves - wouldn't want to stay for a full week, though, not least because there's so much to see and do elsewhere in Kerala!
