I spent two nights in Thekkady at White House, and these were really great! I would actually have loved to spend more days there, but had already arranged my trip in Kerala. If you wan't a view like Jurassic park, look no further. After spending 3 weeks in Kerala White House felt like a holiday retreat for very little cost. The friendly host went out of her way to help us, the rooms were clean and most of our time was spent out on the veranda looking out over the lush green... More

The rooms ranged from 400 to 1200 Rs and was pretty good value. We didn't have the view but we only stayed the one night. We saw a goar (bison) from the backyard of the 1200 Rs room. The location was good - close to shops and the periyar reserve. Some negatives - no hot water in our rooms, ant... More

The White House is in an excellent location: central Kumily, within walking distance from the restaurants and shops. You have the choice of either a modern room with an en suite bathroom and AC, or a bamboo hut with a shared bathroom.
