Situated in Ernakulum and handy for the ferries across to Fort Cochin (just down the street). There are many budget hotels in the same street and this is probably not the best, but it is cheap and clean. I phoned ahead to book my room and itt was to cost rs400 (about $10) and when I arrived I had the best budget hotel rooms since I arrived in India.
