We stayed two nights at the property and we were lucky enough to be upgraded from our original choice of Lake View room to Cottage on backwaters. If you can afford the more expensive cottage, it is by far well worth the money and we would not hesitate to recommend it. The actual bedroom is absolutely massive and is a... more

The Gramam is on a coconut plantation about 20 minutes out of town. They have only two rooms and as I was the only guest, Jos (pronounced “just” without the “t”) the owner, upgraded me to the Lake View room. For less than the cost of a Travelodge I had a little house by the river. Huge bedroom, gorgeous outside... more

This is the second time i have stayed at Gramam Homestay in the wonderfully named Kumbalangi outside Kochin. And once again, Jos and his family ensured we had a wonderfully relaxing stay. they have upgraded the accommodation with a delightful waterside chalet, but they have kept it in keeping with the relaxed, coconut-shade atmosphere. Though very close to Kochin, you'd... more

The setting is stunning amidst coconut palms with views over the backwaters and the Chinese fishing nets. The palm wine (toddy) is tapped from the coconut trees each day and is well worth sampling. The cottage is spacious (4 of us comfortably slept in the large room) and very tastefully decorated with a spectacular solar- heated en suite open-air shower.... more

Lovely spot on the water with great trips available with prawn farmer, or on canoe or to Cochin itself or wherever your interest takes you.. The insect life can be a bit bothersome but mosquito net available and insect screens will be fitted soon. Lovely food and lovely hammocks, swing seats to sit out on. more

Jos is both a caring host and a great organiser. If I had wanted it he would have arranged a variety of tourist type visits in the Cochin area but as I had already seen most of the sights on previous visits to Kerala I just wanted to relax and enjoy the ambience of a comfortable homestay in a beautiful... more

We drove from near Ooty to Kochi. Although Jos provided us with directions we still had some difficulty locating Neduveli House. It is quite remote, about 25 to 30 mins from Fort Kochi, and almost 2 hours from Cherai Beach. We were hesistant as we approached the property since it does not look very inviting, however once inside the compound... more

Having read the reviews on tripadvisor, we decided to book the "cottage" for threee nights in early January 2009. My wife and I arrived by bus and tuc-tuc from south Kerala. Although the tuc-tuc driver was from the area, he had never heard of Gramam Homestay. However, he asked a couple of the locals and we only had a slight... more

From the moment we contacted Jos until the moment we were delivered back to the airport at the end of the trip we felt well taken care of. Jos responded quickly and efficiently to our questions and arranged a tour to suit our interests. The standard of his own accommodation was excellent and each homestay we visited had its own... more

Entrusting Jos to plan our 9 day trip to Kerala was the best decision we made. Our first stop was 2 nights at Gramam homestay nestled amongst the coconut trees which was a great treat, the guest bungalow was very comfortable and the meals prepared by Jos' wife were outstanding. The homestay is situated in a little village on a... more
