- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
-
Looking out to a 400-year old church, Casa de Ann is an ideal home to kick back, relax and take in the sights and sounds of the quaint little settlement of Vypeen. The majestic architecture and intricate details of the church will keep your attention for hours and before you realise it the sweet voices of the choir will have you swooning to their tunes. Head a bit further for a stroll down the sea wall and watch the traditional Chinese fishing nets in action as they drop and raise their appendage into sea to haul in a fresh catch. If you ever get tired of that you could just sit back and watch for the dolphins come up and create a splash or just wave out as the giant ships make their way back into the seas of the world. You could even take the ten minute local ferry to cross over the channel and explore the enchanting Fort Cochin and its many churches and dig for some history lessons in its dainty corners to learn of dynasties that once were. Or you could carry on to discover the mystic lanes of Jew Town and the vibrant paintings of Mattancherry Palace only to stumble across some of the most exquisite handicrafts and superbly detailed furniture by the roadside. The Spice Markets in the back roads aren't to be missed either.Cherai, Kerala's longest stretch of beach, isn't too far away either if a day of soaking up the sun and playing dodge with the waves is what your heart desires. You could always stop at the Lighthouse on your way as well. Busy, on the other hand, is what Ernakulum city is, with its hustle bustle and old market places standing alongside high-rise apartments and shopping malls.
