What a magical place to relax and unwind. We were fortunate that, although the lodge has two rooms, we were the only occupants and for three days had the place to ourselves. Luigi and Eldhose were excellent, very friendly and attentive, not to mention Eldhose's wife Lissy, who was responsible for the lovely Kerala meals we enjoyed during our stay....

Not only does Periyar River Lodge offers the guests an impressive connection with nature, but its peaceful and serene surroundings provides the guests with an untainted view of rural Kerala, while still being easily accessible to city of Cochin (65 kms) and the Cochin International Airport (50 kms). The River Lodge itself is aesthetically built. The architectural concept of the Lodge is a 'nalukettu', with a small open courtyard in the middle of the house and the structure of the house built around this courtyard. The Lodge itself has large verandahs around it where guests can relax with a view of the river in front of the house. The Periyar River Lodge has 2 double-bed rooms with attached restrooms with modern amenities. The cuisine, being strictly Keralite, has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. With our high standards of service, we hope to impart an experience of Kerala, both relaxed and personalized.
