Now this Hotel for me and my family was excellent. The owner, staff and security are a cut above the rest. Firstly the owner takes time out to talk to the guests and make sure everything is fine. The domestic cleaners were polite and cheerful. Security were always around morning and night, which gave me a great sense of security.... More

Have been a number of times to this hotel, this last visit being the 6th. Have always loved the hotel and the staff. On our last visit the hotel has deterioted greatly. The biggest problem being the pool and pool area, some days the pool was green and noticed alot of leaks, which has now affected the tiles and made... More

A very basic, simple hotel, but best on the strip for the beach, where you can at least jump in the waves. The better hotels nearer the town have steep drops into the sea. The staff are not well trained, but do try hard. However, they do continually try to get you to sponsor them or the local school. The... More

we have just returned from The Bijilo Beach Hotel having stayed for two weeks. At first my impression was that it was a little bit shabby, but once we had settled in and admired the wonderful views from our balcony, it didn't seem too bad. The rooms are nice and spacious and had everything we required (no tea making facilities... More

Our first room was dirty and shabby and we had booked an apartment with bedroom and separate lounge, it was not. We got them to show us another room but that didn't have a balcony and was dark so stuck with the first room...until the rep came - I took all the bedding down to reception and asked for clean... The hotel is lovely. Rooms are clean, stuff is nice, pool is cleaned every day. Beach is near and beds and beach umbrellas are included. But the exchange rates are lower than for example on the airport (hotel: 43D for 1pound, airport: 47D for 1pound), at least during our stay... We had breakfast included, there were: eggs, sausages, poridge, beans,... More

We moved to Bijilo Hotel after 2 days at the rather shabby and dirty Senegambia hotel, and it was a great move. Bijilo Beach Hotel is about 5 minute taxi ride from senegambia, or 20 minute walk along the beach. It is quieter, there are fewer bumsters, and the apartment we had was huge, with a balcony, it was impeccably... More

Having just returned from 2 weeks at Bijilo Beach I would recommend the hotel but with reservations. The main holiday "strip" at senegambia can be reached by a lovely walk ( 3/4 hr ) along the beach. A taxi can be used for a 5-8 min. ride for approx. £ 1.75 ( bargaining essential !) The area around the hotel... More

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at The Bijilo Beach in Kotoli Gambia. The staff were very friendly but beware of the tales of woe about not being able to afford childrens school fees or further education. We were approached 7 times with staff trying to get us to sponsor their children for school. (Mostly chambermaids and restaurant staff)... More
