Good: breakfast, friendly stuff, clean beach, japan restaurant, gym, value (at Jan 11 I booked double room for USD 90 with taxes directly from Marriott site) Not good: transition between sea & mountain areas, no free wi-fi (exept cafe Illy), sauna and steam room are small and need to renovation more

Have just returned from our Christmas holiday. Marriott Mountainside was an ideal choice for us. Very Christmassy. Lovely heated pool with plenty of comfortable sunbeds, friendly staff, good breakfasts, large rooms [although our bathroom looked tired], heavenly beds [I have never slept so well]. As noted in other reviews there are two Marriott's - the Beach resort and the Mountain resort (although staying in either provides access to facilities in both). Sharm El Shekh is a wonderful destination all year round. I was initially a little hesitant because of it being winter but was plesantly suprised.
